Niacinamide
Niacinamide earns its place in Korean formulation because it solves several problems at once without conflict. It helps skin hold water, tempers sebum, and interrupts the handover of pigment from the cells that make it to the cells you see. Tranexamic acid
Tranexamic acid began as a medicine for heavy bleeding and turned out, unexpectedly, to work on stubborn pigmentation. It interrupts the signalling between skin cells and the cells that produce pigment, which is why it helps with melasma and sun-driven patches that resist other treatments. It is slow — two to three months of daily use before a fair judgement — and it works considerably better alongside strict sun protection than without it.

That order matters more than people expect — the thinnest, most concentrated layer needs direct contact with skin, not a film of moisturiser in the way.
