What is in it

Sunscreen filters are either mineral, which sit on the surface and scatter light, or organic, which absorb ultraviolet energy and release it as heat. Korean and Japanese formulas have access to a wider, more elegant set of filters than are approved in the United States, which is why they tend to feel lighter at the same level of protection. What to use it with

Where it fits in your routine

Sunscreen is the final morning step, applied over moisturiser and under makeup, and it is the single most effective anti-ageing product in any routine. The amount matters as much as the product: roughly two finger-lengths for the face and neck, which is far more than most people apply. Reapply through the day if you are outdoors. Every brightening ingredient in your routine is working against the sun, and without this step the sun wins.

Before you start
