Niacinamide
Niacinamide earns its place in Korean formulation because it solves several problems at once without conflict. It helps skin hold water, tempers sebum, and interrupts the handover of pigment from the cells that make it to the cells you see. Glutathione
Glutathione is an antioxidant the body produces itself, and it is heavily marketed for skin tone across South and East Asia. The topical evidence is thin but not absent — it appears to interfere with pigment production in a similar way to other tyrosinase inhibitors. The evidence for oral supplements is weaker still, and the injectable form is genuinely unsafe and unapproved. Applied to skin, it is a reasonable mild brightener and no more than that.
