What is in it
Niacinamide
The appeal of niacinamide is how little it asks of your skin. It is stable, it does not need a low pH to work, and it does not make skin sun-sensitive. What it does is steady: firmer barrier function, less visible oil through the day, and a slow fade on post-blemish marks. Very high concentrations can feel warm on reactive skin, which is why most well-judged formulas sit between two and ten percent rather than chasing a bigger number. Tranexamic acid
Tranexamic acid began as a medicine for heavy bleeding and turned out, unexpectedly, to work on stubborn pigmentation. It interrupts the signalling between skin cells and the cells that produce pigment, which is why it helps with melasma and sun-driven patches that resist other treatments. It is slow — two to three months of daily use before a fair judgement — and it works considerably better alongside strict sun protection than without it.
Centella asiatica
Korean formulation reaches for centella whenever a product needs to be both active and tolerable. Its job is partly to hydrate and mostly to seal — it locks down the water and the actives applied beneath it, which is why even oily skin does better with one than without.
